This fall, the America’s Marines Tour is traveling throughout the United States with the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon as they perform their precise drill and film a new TV commercial.
The Silent Drill Platoon represents the pride and discipline of the Marine Corps. Within the Silent Drill Platoon, 32 Marines in dress blue uniforms are specially trained to execute complex movements with 10.5 pound M-1 Garand rifles with fixed bayonets. The entire platoon operates in perfect synchronization without vocal cadence of any type. The Silent Drill Platoon performs at the historic Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C., and in events around the world.
The America’s Marines Tour will be filmed throughout September and October of 2007 during visits to San Francisco, CA, Nashville, TN, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, PA, New York, NY, Judith Point, RI, Sligo, KY, Scottsburg, IN, the Grand Canyon, AZ, and Denver, CO.
