America's Marines at the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam

AMERICA’S MARINES IN GRAND CANYON 3:23

Retired Marine 1:
The reason I joined the Marine Corps was because I fell under the John F. Kennedy school of ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country. One thing I think about the Marine Corps is that they have a long history and traditions unlike any other military service in the United States. It makes my heart proud that these young men in this day and age are willing to serve their country and serve their Corps.

Male 1:
It’s changed my whole perception on what it is to be an American. To have somebody give up that sacrifice and make that dedication to protect us.

Female 1:
They join to protect their country. They join to protect us, to protect their home, their family, their friends, people they don’t know.

Retired Marine 1:
God knows if I was still able to I’d be right along with these young men.

Retired Marine 2:
You know, I think one of the things the Marine Corps does is that it teaches them to do things that they never thought it was possible to do both physically and mentally.

Female 2:
It’s because of our nation’s armed forces that we’re able to enjoy this great sight as it is.

Retired Marine 3:
I came out here to watch the finest drill team in the world and give them support. Always a Marine!

Male 2:
They look great out there. They look awesome and I think they’re doing a great job. It makes me proud to be an American.

Female 3:
Every one of them is a hero. I love them and I want to hug them all.

Marine 1:
Everyone’s always happy to see you out there and they say “Hi” and you get a “ooh-rah!”

Marine 2:
It brings my spirit pretty high. I’m going to re-enlist this fall.

Marine3:
It’s uplifting. You get to really feel the gratitude that people have for what you do.

Retired Marine 4:
Anything I can do to be around the Marine Corps, we enjoy. It always gives you a sense of pride and of country and a sense of belonging to the family of the Marine Corps and it’s great to see these young men out here that are carrying on the tradition. I love the Marine Corps.
