A Greater Pride
GENIE SCHAEFFER 1:14
Amazed. Seeing the Marines here today, it’s really amazing. I’ve always been proud to be an American. I’ve lived abroad for over ten years and I’ve always felt that this country’s unique. I think that in the Marine Corps there’s a history and a brotherhood that you just don’t find anywhere else. The whole experience of John going through recruit training, graduation, [and] deployment has changed him in ways that are all good. John’s service, as a family, brought us closer together and gave me a deeper understanding of this country, a greater pride in being an American but also just was the hardest but the best thing we’ve done. My feelings towards John at this point are increased with pride and amazement that he is one of these guys.
